What do we think about Ready To Drink?

Over the past few years, Ready To Drink (RTD) cocktails have soared in popularity as people look for an easy alternative to mixed cocktails or large drinks.

These cocktails use real spirits and wines – everything from gin and vodka to tequila and rum – meaning that you’ll still get the taste of a well-mixed cocktail without the complication of making it yourself. Plus, due to being serviced in individual bottles or cans, you don’t need to worry about having a lot of ingredients or enough space to carry them!

There are lots of different RTD cocktails and beverages available right now, including most of your favourite cocktails and some new combinations too. With so many to choose from, we thought we’d make it easier by sharing some of our favourites on the market right now.

Want a glass of wine in the evening but don’t want to open a whole bottle? Want something portable to take with you on a picnic or to an outdoor event that doesn’t need plastic glasses or a corkscrew?

The Canned Wine Company, as the name suggests, has come up with an excellent alternative to a classic bottle of wine. Not only do they have a fantastic selection of wines to choose from, selected from some of Europe’s finest wine makers, but they also have a strong focus on sustainability and accessibility.

Their goal is “making delicious, high-quality wines accessible to everyone in the most sustainable way” and we think they’re doing an excellent job at that!

Bodega Bay’s mission is “to serve healthy hedonists and give back to our global community” and, made with triple grain vodka and natural fruit flavours, their hard seltzers are the perfect RTD solution to this goal.

With a large variety of flavours, from apple, ginger and acai berry to cherry with mango and goji berry, there’s something for everyone. Not to mention, every single can contains no refined sugars, is both vegan and gluten free, and only contains 4.5 grams of naturally occurring sugars.

Whether you’re looking to upgrade your festival drinks, bring something new to a picnic or find something to replace your high calorie summer beers, Bodega Bay’s hard seltzers are there as the alternative.

Since its founding in 2014, Parisian cocktail bar, Le Syndicat, has made a name for itself as one of the best bars in the world.

Its goal, ever since its opening, is “to defend the excellence of France's heritage and the products that bring it to life, while at the same time dusting off the codes for French spirits” and their féfé range is the next step in supporting this goal.

You don’t have to travel to Paris (although you might want to) to try the fabulous cocktails that have made Le Syndicat so famous. Now, with their range of canned cocktails, you can try every concoction their bartenders have created all from the comfort of your own home.

Located in a gorgeous Scottish estate built at the height of the Scottish Enlightenment, House of Elrick’s distillery is well known for their premium small batch artisan gin. However, that isn’t all they distil.

Recently, House of Elrick have launched a selection of RTD cocktails, all made with either their botanical gin or with their Caribbean sourced rum liquors.

Choose from spiced or white rum cocktails, or summer inspired gin & tonics, all pre-mixed and ready to drink.
