Sam Caporn MW and Clément Robert MS go head to head Aussie style in this ultimate food matching contest. They present the Australian wines they believe best match a selection of dishes created by Roger Jones of The Harrow at Little Bedwyn. Join them as they explore Australia's fresh, elegant, food-friendly wines, and try their perfect pairings before deciding if MS or MW should win the day

Australia has one of the most diverse wine scenes in the world. Quite simply, there’s nothing like it. With 65 regions, more than 130 grape varieties, old vines and innovative new styles, the wines are an expression of the country’s distinctive terroirs and vibrant communities that cultivate them. From rogue to refined, classic to contemporary, it’s variety with more, you know, variety.

With a diverse, exciting line-up of wines chosen by Sam and Clément, you’ll be blown away by the vibrancy and versatility of premium Australian wines. Discover how fresh, elegant and food-friendly Aussie wines are, and explore the evolution from what was happening several years ago.

Roger Jones of The Harrow at Little Bedwyn will be serving these dishes:

•Ceviche of sea bream with crab, pickled ginger, shisho leaves, pineapple and chilli sorbet

•Carpaccio of venison, duck heart, perigord truffles, cep and chicken cream, pea shoots, PX caramel

•Char-grilled aubergine and thyme, pistachio and coriander chutney, yoghurt with garlic, honey and mint

And the wines that Sam and Clément have selected…these will be revealed on the day! To give you a taste, the line-up features cool climate styles, sparkling wine, a rosé and an alternative grape variety. 

Expect some fierce competition as each Master tries to persuade you why their pairing is the best. After tasting the food and wine together, it’s up to you – the audience – to vote for your favourite match.

You may have been to many food and wine pairing sessions, but the element of competition gives this a new twist. It’s Master of Wine vs Master Sommelier, who will win?
