Nicky Kong has worked in hotels/pub management for over a decade. After completing the prestigious graduate programme with Thwaites' Shire Hotels she went onto manage in a range of their inns and spa hotels before joining the management team at Cricketers Inns. Initially at the Plough at Lupton in the Lakes before moving down to spearhead the running of the Crown and Kettle in Manchester where she has overseen its rising success over the last three years. During her tenure at The Crown and Kettle, Nicky has worked tirelessly to ensure it remains well and truly on the radar as one of the best pubs in Manchester. An achievement that has been recognised with numerous awards including Manchester pub of the year 2017 and central Manchester CAMRA pub of the year 2019. 

As an individual, originally coming from a wine background, she has also risen to prominence on the real ale and cider scene. Since 2017, she has been single-handedly responsible for the conception and delivery of Beardless Beer Week, a weeklong celebration of beers brewed by women along with female artists and musicians. She holds the advanced qualification in beer from the Beer and Cider Academy and has recently co ordinated and set up a 12 month Manchester cider club alongside Dick Withecombe (cider enthusiast) which is proving a great success for the resurgence of cider! #rethinkcider
