Tim Anderson is a chef, restaurateur, author & MasterChef Winner. Tim counts his main influences as his American heritage along with his love for regional Japanese cooking, but with a passion for food science & modernist cuisine too.

Tim has lived in London since 2008, having grown up in Wisconsin and spending a few years teaching in Southern Japan. Since his all - important MasterChef win, Tim has carved out his dream career in food, working as a chef, food writer & presenter.

Tim’s latest cookbooks, Japaneasy (Hardie Grant, 2017)challenges the view that Japanese food is delicate & fussy by offering accessible & delicious recipes, and Tokyo Stories (Hardie Grant, 2019) which delves into the amazing array of food & food culture in Tokyo, have both received rave reviews. Tim’s also a regular panellist on BBC R4’s Kitchen Cabinet with Jay Rayner, and he made his debut on BBC 1’s Saturday Kitchen earlier this year.
