About

Nectaly is the owner of Herbs & Rye. His temple is dedicated to classic cocktails. Herbs & Rye is not only a local hang but a cocktail destination for tourists, visiting bartenders and mixologists, and aficionados due to its atmosphere, personality, menu and high standards.

He pays tribute to classic cocktails, the techniques and crafting standards that made them icons. Not only that, but he studies the spirits, flavors and tastes of the day of a multitude of epochs.

“We have to go by the book and understand how the American palate was drinking at those times," says Nectaly. "Our education needs to never end."

A Vegas native, Nectaly was no stranger adversity during his youth, and his first foray into the hospitality industry lasted a paltry two weeks. He started his career as busboy at Las Vegas tamale restaurant Doña María Tamales. He then took a stab at the industry again when he decided to apply for a job at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. During his interview, his interviewer forgot he was there and made to wait for nine hours. As an apologetic recompense, he was offered a job as a glass polisher at Olives, a Todd English restaurant.

He has only moved up from there.

Most importantly, it is what he does outside the bar that drives him the most. Nectaly regularly visits elementary schools throughout Las Vegas to show the children who are often at risk, food insecure, or undocumented. He has created “Barmania.” An international cocktail competition dedicated to raising money for St. Baldrick’s Children’s Hospital. A hospital dedicated to treating children with cancer. To date, he has raised 50K for this charity. He also mentors many bartenders in all aspects of business and how to grow within this cocktail industry while maintaining sobriety.

He is currently opening another restaurant/bar in Las Vegas called “Cleaver.” It is set to open in late August this year.
