About

UK Belvedere Brand Ambassador

After 14 years behind the bar, Mark decided to take the leap, move to London and join Moet Hennessy UK in a more prominent role in June 2016. His background focusses on service standards and drinks creation with a particular passion for The Martini. Mark’s career has developed from being a bar back in high volume bars, heading up the Brand Consultancy division of LA Group to finally landing his dream job as the first UK Brand Ambassador in a decade. Born and raised in Glasgow, he has been part of a drinks movement, reinvigorating cocktail culture in Scotland.

In his junior years, he was always present in the national cocktail competition circuit and more recently, helped judge many regional competitions using these as a platform for educating young aspiring bartenders who see the potential in this industry for a rewarding career.

He had been acting as a local Belvedere champion for 5 years (alongside owning his own bar in Glasgow called Booly Mardys), highlighting the legitimacy of vodka as a category and Belvedere’s significance therein. He was also the chairman of a traders association, focusing on the challenges encountered by the drinks and service industry in current times and how to encourage sustainable business growth while encouraging bars to educate consumers in real-time drinks trends.
