Speaker - Patricia Tóth
Patricia Tóth was born in Hungary and grew up on the Danube’s riverside. She received her degreein Food Science at the University of Corvinus in Budapest, specialising in wine, beer and spirits. At this point the choice to work as a winemaker perhaps became evident, after discovering that her relatives defined her grandfather as 'the one who made the best wine in his village'.
On her CV are various known wine cellars such as Le Vigne di Zamò in Friuli, Bava in Piedmont and Vylyan in Hungary. Since 2005 she has collaborated with Planeta, first part-time during the harvests to full-time, being, since 2008, winemaker, responsible for the production first in Noto, after in Vittoria, and on the Etna and Milazzo.
She is also responsible for the sustainable farming program and external relationships. In her spare time, Patricia develops her own four-hectare vineyard near Lake Balaton – at the moment here, her best consumers are deer and wildboar.
She is strongly devoted to research and development projects regarding local grape varieties, new terroirs and sustainable farming.
