Speaker - Miran Chauhan
As a bartender, Miran loves to focus on local ingredients with the use of foraging, tied in with just being a bit unorthodox in the approach to mixed drinks. He belives being analytical and considering all of the history, perspectives and overall dynamics of what it takes to create a product first even before making drinks is extremely important. Miran is a big believer in product personality - everything in the bar/restaurant has one and should be treated individually.
He started his career relatively late after finishing an MA degree in product design and concept theory. With that background, Miran has tried to apply the processes used in the design industry to the creative processes within hospitality. Over the last few years, working as bar manager at The Bon Vivant in Edinburgh has allowed him to experience many different aspects of the bar industry, as well as giving him the platform to win international cocktail competitions.
