Bertrand was born in 1975, a native of the Poitou region in France, with parents hailing from the right bank of Bordeaux and Champagne. He studied Economics in Tours and Paris with a specialisation in Marketing and International Business.

His personal interest in wine started early, thanks to the family environment – his father owned a wonderful collection of wines, especially from the Bordeaux right bank. He is the founder of Parasol Wines, a portfolio of crafted and independent wineries from various appellations, including Loire, Roussillon, Provence, Piemont, Burgundy and of course Champagne, directed to export markets such as UK, USA, Belgium.

In 2015 he joined Renaud Cointreau group and now works as export director for both Champagne Gosset and Cognac Frapin. Bertrand has been a judge at the International Wine Challenge since 2006. His hobbies include music, sport and travel.
