Giuseppe Gallo is one of the drink industry’s leading and most respected figures. Internationally renowned and recognised for his skills as a mixologist, he now dedicates his time to education and brand development within the on-trade through his beverage consultancy company Italspirits. A passion for the heritage of Italian drinking culture saw him realise a lifelong ambition and launch Italicus di Rosolio Bergamotto in 2016, a beautiful aperitif that rediscovers the forgotten Rosolio category.
With over 20 years’ experience, Giuseppe has an inherent passion for the drinks business, making him an inimitable source of knowledge and insight. Throughout his career he has worked in many different sectors of the drinks and hospitality business. From 2009 he was Martini Global Ambassador for which he was crowned Best International Brand Ambassador at the prestigious Tales of the Cocktail 2014. In this position, Giuseppe had a fundamental role in growing and shaping the vermouth category and its rise to popularity today.
Hailing from the beautiful Amalfi coast in the south of Italy, Giuseppe’s passion for mixology stems from his strong Italian heritage, dating back to his childhood when he used to watch his mother make homemade Limoncello.
As well as achieving an impressive reputation within the industry which sees him approached to contribute editorials for international trade media, he is also profiled in influential consumer titles including The Sunday Times, Telegraph, Vanity Fair, Wall Street Journal and People.
More recent accomplishments include his work with celebrity chef Jamie Oliver to develop the online Drinks Tube platform, as well as re-launching the entire cocktail programme for Jamie’s Italian restaurants in the UK in 2015.
Considered a world expert on Italian drinks including Vermouth and Amaro, through Italspirits Giuseppe works with some of the world’s leading bartenders to educate the on-trade and a shine a light on these categories, whilst promoting Italian drinking culture around the world.
