Unicorn Tears Gin 4 blue pink

Homeware & lifestyle retailer Firebox.com is attending Imbibe Live for the first time as it seeks trade partners for its best-selling product, Unicorn Tears Gin Liqueur, and sister spirit Phoenix Tears Rum.

Launching to the market in 2015, the premium gin made ‘from the tears of unicorns’ went viral, having been featured widely across national and international media. It was a hugely successful launch for the brand and became its best-selling drinks line in the company’s history. Batch 2 was then launched in 2016 with an improved bottle design and refined recipe via a major UK manufacturer.

Following the phenomenal success of the launch, Firebox created sister spirit Phoenix Tears Rum last year; a sweet and spicy Caribbean Rum with golden embers swirling throughout, and launched the duo as part of the now-titled Mythical Spirits range. Now Firebox is bringing the Mythical Spirits range to Imbibe Live for the brand’s first foray into the on-trade marketplace.

‘We wanted to cut through the noise by bringing an imaginative, fun and fresh perspective to the craft gin industry with Unicorn Tears Gin. Our aim was to create a unique product that would resonate with our audience of 20-35 year olds, and a product that most importantly, tastes really good too,’ said Dan Thomas, Sales Director at Firebox.com.

‘Unicorn Tears Gin has been a phenomenal seller and we’re also seeing the unicorn trend continuing to gain momentum in general, so we feel there are even more potential opportunities out there for it. We think these spirits would be immensely popular in bars serving up themed cocktails like a pearlescent Cosmopolicorn or a glittering Charred & Stormy!’

The brand has further plans to expand the Mythical Spirits range and to develop it further in the near future. More information will be announced on this later this year. Firebox is now actively seeking partners for both on- and off-trade, both in the UK and internationally.
