It’s a Pinot party! Imbibe Live invites you to explore Pinot Noir and its many varieties and expressions in the Pinots du Monde wine session on Monday 3 July.
This self-pour tasting will take you on an amazing journey around the world, showcasing wines from some of the most exciting regions producing top quality Pinot Noir outside Burgundy!
Starting from home, Gusbourne Boothill Pinot Noir, 2014, from Kent, will prove England can make really good red wines. The tasting exploration will continue via Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy – where Alois Lageder’s Krafuss Pinot Noir, 2014, from Alto Adige, took a SWA gold medal – and, of course, France.
Crossing the Atlantic, you will reach California’s Sonoma Coast and Oregon in the US, before moving on to Canada, now also making wonderful wines with this variety.
Tasting your way down the American continent will obviously lead to Chile and Argentina before hopping across to South Africa, New Zealand and Australia for more vinous globe-trotting, to try the likes of SWA gold medal winner Yerring Station Village Pinot Noir, 2014 from the Yarra Valley, Australia.
Imbibe has searched for the most representative styles of each country and region, and those that really deliver at all price points. A unique opportunity to get a full picture of what the world is currently doing with one of the most emblematic of red varieties.
